LWIR lenses, also known as long-wave infrared lenses, are lenses specifically designed for the 8000-12000nm range (i.e., the long-wave infrared wavelength range). At Rising Optics, we produce high performance long wave infrared lenses that have a variety of applications in medicine, industry, security and defense.
Long wave infrared lenses are used in long wave infrared cameras to capture light that cannot be seen by the naked eye. This makes them extremely valuable in a wide range of important applications. For example, our lenses are used in thermal imaging systems for quality control in factories. They also allow for predictive maintenance in industrial Settings, helping to identify potential issues before they become significant issues. In addition, even in the presence of smoke or fog, the long-wave infrared lens enables clear monitoring imaging.
In addition, long-wave infrared lenses can be used for gas leak detection to help prevent dangerous situations from escalating. In medical applications, the combination of long-wave infrared lenses and thermal imaging provides a non-invasive and reliable way to detect temperature changes at the cellular level. This allows medical professionals to identify abnormalities.
