Both are variable-focus lenses with variable focal length and adjustable sharpness. But there are a few fundamental differences:
A, structurally, the continuous zoom lens has two sets of adjustable lenses, which are used to adjust the focal length and sharpness. Dual field lenses have only one set of adjustable lenses, which are used to switch focal lengths and adjust the sharpness of the picture.
B, under normal circumstances, continuous zoom lenses need two groups of motors to control. Dual field lenses require only a set of motors to switch focal lengths and adjust sharpness.
C, continuous zoom lens focal length can be any value within the design range. The focal length of a dual-field lens can only switch between two fixed focal lengths.
