Infrared Manual Focus Lens Description:
Wavelength: 8-12um
Material: Ge, Si, ZnSe, ZnS
External Coating: DLC / AR
Usage: Infrared Optical
Long wave infrared lens Features:
We have a wide range of infrared lenses to choose from, including manually adjustable lenses, fixed lenses and long wave infrared electric lenses. We stock focal lengths from 3.8 to 250. We also offer different interface options such as M34x0.5, M45x1, M34x0.5, M34x0.75, Type C mounting and flanges. The distance between the lens and the object can vary between 13.3 and 61.26.
Germanium is commonly used in long wave infrared lenses. This material is known for its durability, resistance to chemical reactivity and hardness, which makes it suitable for harsh environments. However, germanium has one disadvantage
The disadvantage of the lens is that it is easy to lose focus when the temperature changes under certain conditions. If you expect temperature fluctuations, we recommend using ZnSe LWIR lenses. These lenses provide a more stable focus even if the temperature changes significantly.

FAQ:
What Are DLC And AR Coating?
Diamond-like carbon (DLC) membrane is an amorphous carbon membrane. The membrane contains a certain number of sp3 bonds, giving it a series of excellent properties close to diamond. It has the advantages of low deposition temperature and large area deposition.
Among various hard membranes, DLC membrane can be positioned as a membrane material with high hardness and excellent wear resistance and low coefficient of friction.
AR (Anti-Reflection) membrane cannot change the absorption rate of the lens itself. It can only increase the transmittance by reducing the reflectance on both sides of the lens, which is the so-called "reflection and antireflection".
Light is an electromagnetic wave. By matching the refractive index and thickness of the AR membrane, the light produces multi-beam interference in the AR membrane-destructive interference on the upper surface and constructive interference on the lower surface.
